I'm not crazy about the typography treatment on the plate. Looks like it's sitting on top of the plate instead of being a part of the plate. But, otherwise this is a fun model.

Maybe you could add a little lobster logo and whatnot to the plate so it looks more authentic.

my next critique is that the lobster is too solid red. he needs some variation in his shell color. maybe some deep blue's and speckles.

I use 3dsmax and the butter texture is just a jpeg of melted butter. :) We were all new to this at one time or another. lol
